About
Before I could write I leaned how to draw. Thanks to a children’s television program and thanks to all the encouraging teachers who guided me into a graphic design career. After graduating from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Visual Communications, I started working at a t-shirt design company in Delaware designing their brochures and photographing their product. When I moved back to New York, I worked for five years as an Art Director for an ad agency managing the entire creative process. Then, I was brought on at a financial institution to create a wide variety of design pieces, from logos to trade show signage. After a senior design position at a commercial real estate developer, I finally decided to make the move across the county to Los Angeles, CA.
One year after my move to Los Angeles, I enrolled in an abstract drawing class at UCLA Extension. As a result of that class, I painted “Drinking Cappuccino,” which moved me beyond description. Since then, painting has become my therapy. Releasing ingrained beliefs through my brush and onto my paper began my true, inner transformation. From my artwork, I created a system of painting exercises and I help others through their creative journey to experience the therapeutic benefits of art.
